My Brazilian White Knee, A.genticulata, (called Teewan) is an eating
machine. I estimate he/she is approx 1 year old with a 4" leg span.
Everything I put in the tank is devoured within seconds. He/she eats about
3 large locusts a day (I'm sure Teewan would eat more if I supplied it). As
soon as it is finished it prowls the tank looking for more! Apart from
pinkie mice, what other large meal can I offer it?
By comparison, my Salmon Pink, L.parahybana, (called Teetoo) is a slow
eater. He/she is a similar age/size, but hardly ever comes out from its
lair. Teetoo will eat a dozen brown crickets in a fortnight and then is not
interested in food for weeks.
Both are kept in a similar set-up, LARGE tank, coir/vermiculite substrate
approx 8:1 mix. Temp is 80-90, humidity is never less than 65%, both living
underneath bark shelters with a water dish.
Has anyone got similar experience?
Thanks

Moulting Madness! - All three of my spiders, a G. rosea, E. murinus and L. parahybana moulted within one week, with the salmon sneaking in the deed sometime while I was at work today. Of course I wasn't around to see any of them. :o( The good news is they're all healthy.. |
